Grants to Iowa organizations to offer professional development opportunities for local residents in eligible regions. Funding is intended to provide unemployed and underemployed residents with the additional skills necessary to secure better-paying, full-time employment. Eligible residents reside in central Iowa.
The purpose of the Central Iowa Job Training Program is to develop a long-term sustained program to train unemployed and underemployed central Iowans with skills necessary to advance to higher-paying jobs with full benefits. The applicant will submit a plan that details a training program targeted towards skill development and occupational certifications. The training program will provide individuals with the skills necessary to succeed in full-time, benefits-oriented, permanent positions.
